In the Emacs FAQ there is the question "Why support GNU Emacs on Windows?". Note that both Atom and VS Code are free and open source. I would be very surprised if the end result was anything like as quick an easy to install, configure and use Atom or VS Code. I would be surprised to find that anyone has taken the trouble program them to do what Atom or VS Code does. I know that both Emacs and Vim are Turing complete programming environments.
